Popular Shaving Myths Debunked

MicroTouch Tough Blade shaving mythsThere are plenty of shaving myths out there today that really cause some men a lot of confusion. Here are several of the most popular myths (debunked):

Shaving Makes Hair Grow Back Thicker

Probably the most popular shaving myth is that after you shave, your hair grows back thicker. This can either make people very weary of shaving as they don’t want their facial hair to get thicker, or it can give people who are looking to grow thicker facial hair false hope. The reason why it might look thicker is because after a shave, your hair will have a blunter tip and will feel stubbly, but it is not actually thicker.

Shaving Makes Hair Grow Back a Different Color

Your facial hair will always grow back the same color that it always does. Like with the thicker myth, hair might seem a little darker at first when it is just stubble but as it grows out you’ll notice that it is the same color that it has always been.

Shaving Makes Hair Grow Back Faster

Shaving does not make your hair grow back any faster. Some will see an increase in speed of facial hair growth as they get older, but it has nothing to do with shaving or how often you shave.

Razors Should Be Kept in the Shower

Razors should not be stored in the shower. If they stay wet constantly, it increases the chances of bacteria growth and rust which are not things you would want touching your face. Razors should always be stored in dry places.

Shave Right When You Enter the Shower

MicroTouch Tough Blade knows you should actually shave right after the shower. The reason it is recommended to shave after a shower is that your hairs are well hydrated and soft.  Ideally, the shower should be warm and you should really take care in cleaning and exfoliating all areas in which you intend to shave.

More Pressure = Closer Shave

This is not only wrong, but quite unsafe. Applying too much pressure could cause cuts and razor burn. MicroTouch Tough Blade razors are designed to provide a close shave without the need of applying too much pressure.

Knowing what is a fact and what is a myth is important when it comes to shaving. You can’t always trust everything that someone else tells you.  You need to make sure you know for yourself what is right and what is wrong and we hope these tips from Micro Touch Tough Blade help you on your path towards shaving truth!
